CCTV for HR: Staff performance management

Whilst CCTV surveillance of employees has its limits due to the need for proportionality, it can have some very effective uses for HR and employee performance management.

An on-site or remote manager can be alerted to trends or anomalies in performance or to absences or to issues such as safety or methods that are used in business operations.

Disciplinary use of CCTV

Camera footage can be of great value to HR departments and line managers during investigations, as part of a disciplinary or grievance procedure. It’s far better to be able to see exactly what happened than to have to first take witness statements from employees, and then corroborate them, or make sense of any contradictory statements.
